Assigning Hyperproof roles to individuals in Okta for SCIM provisioning

Roles and permissions

The following roles can configure SCIM:

  • Administrators

Before assigning Hyperproof roles to users, you must configure Hyperproof and Okta for SCIM provisioning. See Provisioning Hyperproof users and groups with SCIM.

You can assign roles to individual users, as described below, or to Okta groups. To assign roles by group, see Assigning Hyperproof roles to Okta groups for SCIM provisioning.

When you add a user to the Hyperproof app in Okta, a profile window displays with the user's information. Scroll down to the Hyperproof Role field and select a role from the drop-down list. If you don't select a role, and the user doesn't get a role from an Okta group, when the user is added to Hyperproof, they are assigned the default role of Limited access user. Possible roles include:

  • Admin

  • Compliance manager

  • User

  • Limited access user

Adding a user to the Hyperproof app triggers the synchronization between Hyperproof and Okta and sends the user to Hyperproof.

Note: If you initially assigned roles to individual users and later switch to assigning roles by group, Okta clears the roles assigned to individual users in Okta. Their roles in Hyperproof don't change, but you must set them again in Okta. See Assigning Hyperproof roles to Okta groups for SCIM provisioning.

For more information on roles, see Organizational roles and permissions.

For information on the entire SCIM provisioning workflow, see the Okta SCIM workflow.
